I think one of the best payoffs of weeks of sleepless nights with a newborn is the moment you get a glimse of that first true SMILE. It's the moment your realize they are a real little person with feelings and emotions just like you. It's when you wonder if they are as happy to see you as you are to see them. It makes the endless poopy diapers, the cries in the middle of the night, and the spit up all down your shirt all seem pretty harmless. In that moment you realize that you must have the cutest baby in the whole world because nothing or noone could possibly compare to your sweet baby.
